I AM A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER. I OWN D3 CAMERA ,28-70MM LENS,AND MANY OTHER LENSES & EQUIP.

WHEN THE CAMERA AND 28-70MM LENS NEEDED TO BE FIXED, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY ARE GRAY MARKET EQUIP. AND THEY WON'T REPAIR !!NIKON WON'T REPAIR THIER OWN EQUIP. BECAUSE IT DOESN'T SAY NIKON USA ON THE RECEIPT,IT SAYS IMPORT !!!

DUH THEY ARE AL IMPORTS AND NIKON FOUND A WAY TO SCREW IT'S CUSTOMERS ! I AM SWITCHING TO CANON, I MIGHT AS WELL I HAVE TO BUY $8000 BODY & A $2000 LENS TO REPLACE THEM MAY AS WELL START OVER WITH A BETTER COMPANY & EQUIP.

As a professional photographer you should have known that when you were paying less for the Gray Market product, it came with no USA Warranty or service. So why are you now surprised it will not be repaired by Nikon USA. You can try sending it to Japan for repair.
